Skill Development Minister Lodha’s Unique Initiative Celebrates CM Fadnavis’ Birthday With Employment Boost

Mumbai, July 22 – In a landmark statewide initiative to mark Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’s birthday, the Department of Skill, Employment and Innovation organized a record-breaking 102 job fairs, resulting in 57,000 youth registrations and 27,000 job placements in a single day.

The mega employment drive, named after Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, was the brainchild of Skill Development Minister Mangalprabhat Lodha, aimed at turning the CM’s birthday into a transformative opportunity for thousands of job-seeking youth.

Speaking at a key event held at Sharada Mandir High School, Gamdevi, Lodha said, “The vision was to celebrate our dynamic Chief Minister’s birthday in a way that truly empowers the youth of Maharashtra. This initiative is a new chapter in the careers of 27,000 young citizens.”

The Mumbai event was jointly organized by the District Skill Development and Employment Guidance Centre and Sharada Mandir High School, as part of a statewide rollout of over 100 job fairs.

Minister Lodha emphasized that CM Fadnavis has always prioritized youth employment as part of his progressive governance model. “Through these job fairs, thousands are moving toward brighter futures with real career opportunities,” he added.

The job fairs provided access to employment in both private companies and government corporations, with active participation from sectors like IT, logistics, insurance, management, industrial manufacturing, and services.

At the Gamdevi event alone, 25 organizations, including five state-run corporations, participated and 500 candidates registered.

Apart from job placements, the fair also provided counseling on self-employment opportunities and government schemes, informed Assistant Commissioner of Skill Department Shailesh Bhagat. Also present were Guidance Officers Vidya Shinge and Mukesh Sankhe.
