75,000 Youth To Receive Skill Training On PM Modi’s 75th Birthday

Maharashtra to launch short-term job-oriented courses across 419 ITIs from September 17 to October 2

To mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday on September 17, 2025, the Maharashtra Department of Skill Development, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation will launch a special fortnight-long campaign offering skill-based training to 75,000 young men and women.

The programme, which runs from September 17 to October 2, will culminate in the launch of advanced courses across 419 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in the state on October 1, 2025.

Modern training to match industry demand

Skill Development Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha said the initiative will empower youth for both employment and self-employment, aligning with local industry needs. Under the guidance of Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, ITIs are being upgraded to provide global-standard training in cutting-edge fields.

Courses will cover robotics, solar energy technology, artificial intelligence (AI), personality development, and social skills, ensuring that students gain practical knowledge relevant to modern industry. Importantly, training will be available not only in cities but also in rural districts, making skill development more inclusive.

Accessible and affordable

Current ITI students will not be charged any additional fees for the short-term courses, while other aspiring youth can enrol at minimal cost. Admission will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis through the official portal admission.dvet.gov.in.

Minister Lodha emphasized that this opportunity is particularly valuable for those who cannot attend regular workshops due to time or financial constraints. The courses will be conducted in off-hours at ITIs, making them more accessible to working youth.

Future prospects

Graduates of these short-term courses will also receive guidance on employment opportunities and self-employment options within their districts, reducing the need to migrate to other cities for work.

“This campaign is not just a tribute to Prime Minister Modi on his 75th birthday but also a step towards empowering Maharashtra’s youth with future-ready skills,” Lodha said.
