Mira Bhayandar, Maharashtra: In a proud moment for the city, the Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) was recently awarded the President’s First Rank Award for Cleanest City in the 3 to 10 lakh population category, standing out among 4,589 Indian cities. Recognizing this national achievement, a high-level delegation from the Dehradun Municipal Corporation paid a special goodwill visit to study MBMC’s best practices in sanitation and solid waste management.

Additionally, they were briefed on community awareness drives such as “Star Ranking Competitions” in schools, hotels, and societies, and the citywide program “Swachhata Ki Pathshala” aimed at citizen engagement in cleanliness.

The Dehradun officials visited the flagship windrow composting site, inspecting real-time operations and observing how wet waste is scientifically processed into compost.

Commissioner Sharma stated that Mira Bhayandar would continue to lead by example in urban sanitation and now aims to scale its model to international standards. He extended gratitude to the visiting dignitaries for their interest and engagement.

Senior civic officials including Additional Commissioners Dr. Sambhaji Panpatte and Priyanka Rajput, along with engineers, assistant commissioners, and sanitation staff were present during the exchange.
