Citizens Can File Complaints By August 18; Only Individual, Single-Department Issues Allowed

The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) will observe its next Lokshahi Din (Democracy Day) on September 1, 2025, in line with the Maharashtra government’s directive to hold such public grievance hearings on the first Monday of every month.

Citizens wishing to participate must submit their applications in the prescribed format, in two copies, to the Municipal Commissioner, NMMC, clearly marked as ‘Application for Lokshahi Din’ on the envelope’s front. The deadline for submission is August 18, 2025.

The application form can be downloaded from the Quick Links section of the official website — www.nmmc.gov.in — or collected free of cost from the Information and Public Relations Department, 3rd floor, NMMC Headquarters, Sector 15A, CBD Belapur, near Killa Gaonthan.

As per government norms, the complaint or representation must be personal in nature, relating to a single department and a single subject. Applicants must first submit their grievance to the relevant department head and attach a copy of that representation to the Lokshahi Din application.

The civic body has clarified that sub judice matters, revenue/appeal cases, and service-related or establishment issues will not be accepted. Applications that do not follow the prescribed format, lack required supporting documents, are non-personal in nature, or repeat matters already given a final reply will also be rejected.

The NMMC urged citizens to carefully review the eligibility criteria before applying to ensure their grievances are addressed on Lokshahi Din.
