
Raigad To Hold Revenue Lok Adalats For Pending Claims In August
District administration fixes timeline to resolve disputes swiftly across talukas
Raigad | August 7: In a move to clear the backlog of revenue-related disputes, the Raigad district administration has announced a series of Revenue Lok Adalats to be held in August and September. The initiative aims to settle long-pending land and revenue claims in a time-bound manner, providing relief to citizens.
According to Additional Collector Sunil Thorve, Lok Adalats will be organized on August 11, 18, and 25 at the levels of Additional Collector, Sub-Divisional Officer, and Tehsildar. Each case will undergo at least three hearings before being kept for final orders, ensuring speedy disposal.
District-Wide Schedule For Hearing
The program will cover Alibag, Murud, Pen, Roha, Shrivardhan, Mangaon, Mahad, Uran, Karjat, Khalapur, Tala, Poladpur, Mhasla, Sudhagad, and other talukas.
- Tehsildar-level and SDO-level courts: August 11, 18, and 25
- Mangaon Sub-Divisional Office: August 12, 19, and 26 for Mangaon, Tala, Mahad, Poladpur, Shrivardhan, Mhasla, Roha, Sudhagad talukas
- Panvel Additional Tehsildar’s office: August 22, 29, and September 12 for Panvel, Uran, Karjat, Khalapur talukas
Cases will be heard in two sessions daily — 11 am and 3 pm. Notices will be served to appellants and respondents in advance, and in cases of deceased parties, legal heirs will be brought on record. If notices remain unserved, public notices will be published in newspapers to ensure participation.

Collector Kishan Jawale urged litigants, advocates, and citizens to make full use of this opportunity, emphasizing that maximum pending cases should be resolved amicably during these Lok Adalats. The administration has assured that adequate arrangements will be made to facilitate the process smoothly.
The initiative is expected to provide faster justice, reduce the burden on regular courts, and bring relief to farmers, landowners, and families awaiting settlement of claims.
