Minister Aditi Tatkare Pitches Citizen-Led Development For Raigad
Independence Day flag-hoisting highlights focus on infrastructure, women’s empowerment and digital governance
Raigad, August 15 – On the occasion of India’s 78th Independence Day, Minister of Women and Child Development Aditi Tatkare unfurled the national flag at Alibag’s Police Parade Ground and called for a “citizen-driven, technologically advanced, and inclusive development plan” for Raigad district.
The event was attended by District Collector Kishan Jawale, CEO Neha Bhosale, SP Achal Dalal, senior police and administrative officials.
‘Future Raigad Must Be Citizen-Centric’
Minister Tatkare emphasised that the district’s future development would rest on public participation, advanced technology, income generation and timely project completion. “True growth is not limited to economic progress alone but includes education, healthcare, infrastructure, jobs, and social justice,” she said.
She linked this vision to the state government’s broader agenda, citing the launch of the Mukhyamantri Samruddhi Panchayat Raj Abhiyan, a people-driven rural governance campaign aimed at self-reliance and local participation.
Women’s Empowerment & Skill Development
From 2025–26, Maharashtra will roll out the ‘Adishakti Abhiyan’, targeting women’s economic, social, educational and healthcare empowerment. Village-level committees will be rewarded with Adishakti Awards for exemplary work.
She also announced that a Skill Development Centre in collaboration with the Tata Group is being established at Roha, scheduled for completion by May 2026. The centre will focus on AI and advanced technology training, benefiting students and MSMEs, with 3,000 trainees annually.
Digital & Governance Reforms
- Aadhaar Kits: Distribution of 71 new Aadhaar enrolment kits across Raigad to ensure timely, seamless digital services for citizens, even in remote areas.
- Police ID Cards: Launch of India’s first DigiLocker-based police ID cards, ensuring secure, paperless, tamper-proof identity verification.
- Nyay Sarathi Hello AI App: Introduced as a citizen grievance redressal platform, designed to reduce bureaucratic delays.
Honouring Citizens & Heritage
The Minister also distributed awards to:
- Organ donors and disaster relief contributors
- Offices recognised in the 100-day Administrative Reforms Campaign
- Students excelling in the 5th and 8th standard scholarship exams (2025)
- Army veterans (medals and certificates)
Additionally, she launched a coffee table book on the historic Mahad Chavdar Tale Satyagraha, urging officials to digitise it for wider youth outreach.
Why It Matters
Tatkare’s Independence Day address signals a multi-pronged strategy for Raigad’s growth — blending citizen involvement, women’s empowerment, digital governance and skill-based employment. By linking grassroots participation with cutting-edge technology, the district is being positioned as a model for balanced rural-urban development in Maharashtra.
