Key Meeting Held at Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation Headquarters Under Commissioner’s Leadership
Mira-Bhayandar, May 29, 2025:
In an effort to enhance public service delivery and sanitation management across the Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) region, a crucial meeting was convened today at the MBMC headquarters. The meeting was chaired by Commissioner and Administrator Mr. Radhabinod Sharma (IAS), and attended by key municipal officials and contractors.
The agenda focused on several pressing issues, including the deteriorating condition of public toilets, sanitation shortcomings, delayed and incomplete civic works, and overdue payments to contractual employees.
Commissioner Sharma took serious note of the rising complaints and poor maintenance at many public toilet facilities across the city. Emphasizing that cleanliness is directly linked to civic dignity, he asserted that any form of negligence in this regard would not be tolerated. He reiterated that it is the contractors’ responsibility to ensure regular cleaning, upkeep, and ease of access to these facilities for the public.
The meeting also addressed several stalled and pending infrastructure projects, which are causing inconvenience to citizens. Commissioner Sharma expressed concern over these delays and warned that contractors failing to complete works on schedule would face punitive action, including financial penalties.
Turning attention to employee welfare, the Commissioner adopted a firm stance on the issue of delayed salary disbursements for contractual workers. He noted that inconsistent payments were demotivating the workforce and adversely affecting work quality. Contractors were strictly instructed to ensure that all workers receive their wages by the 10th of each month, without exception. Any complaints regarding salary delays will result in stringent action against the respective contractor, he cautioned.
Present at the meeting were Additional Commissioner Dr. Sachin Bangar, Deputy Commissioner Prasad Shingte, City Engineer Deepak Khambit, departmental heads, and all associated contractors. The meeting underscored MBMC’s commitment to improving service standards and ensuring greater accountability from its contractors.
