
Structural Audit of All Bridges and Causeways in the State.
Report Must Be Submitted Immediately: Public Works Minister Shivendrasinghraje Bhosale
Mumbai, Public Works Minister Shivendrasinh Raje Bhosale has instructed that a detailed structural audit of all bridges, culverts and buildings older than 25 years under the jurisdiction of the Public Works Department should be conducted and a factual report should be submitted to the government immediately. Also, immediate measures should be taken to smoothen traffic on the Mumbai–Goa National Highway and ensure that the Wari Highway remains safe.
A review meeting of all the bridges and canals in the state was held in the Ministry. At this time, Minister Shri. Bhosale was speaking. Secretary (Construction) Sanjay Dashpute was present in the meeting. Also, all the Chief Engineers, Superintendent Engineers, Executive Engineers of the state participated through the video conferencing system.
Stating that the Meteorological Department has predicted that the rainfall will be high this year, Minister Mr. Bhosale said that if a bridge is dangerous after the structural audit of bridges and culverts, then traffic should be closed at that place and an alternative route should be made available immediately. Also, a proposal should be prepared immediately to construct a new bridge and culvert at that place. Permanent, immovable barricades should be installed at the place of the dangerous bridge. Information about the dangerous bridge should be informed to the local police administration and gram panchayat. Care should be taken to ensure that the alternative road is in good condition. Bold-letter boards should be installed on the dangerous bridge. Barricades should be installed at the places of unused bridges on the highway and they should be closed. Structural audits of public buildings should also be conducted, Minister Mr. Bhosale gave such instructions. Earlier, a meeting was organized in May in this Baba regarding the work to be done by the pre-monsoon department, in which instructions were also given to all the departmental officers. This time, the Superintendent Engineer of the Public Works Department and other concerned officers were present.
Minister Shri. Bhosale said that all roads should be kept free of potholes. Also, it should be ensured that there is no obstruction to traffic. It should be ensured that traffic on the Mumbai–Goa National Highway remains smooth. Especially during the Ganpati festival, Chakarmani goes to Konkan through this route. Therefore, the work of filling potholes on the road and making the winding roads in good condition should be completed before the Ganpati festival. The National Highways Authority should ensure that traffic continues without any obstruction. A proposal for an alternative bridge should be submitted at Parshuram Ghat. All winding roads should be constructed as per the rules. Traffic on the main road should be closed only after the winding roads are completed. Installing nets on the ghat roads, keeping them in good condition and keeping a system ready to resolve any landslides or other problems should be addressed, Minister Shri. Bhosale also gave instructions on this occasion.
Facilities for Warkari should be set up on the Wari highway. The bridges and embankments on this route should be repaired. Also, the bridges on this route should be inspected. All the work on the Wari route should be done from the safety point of view. The officials of the concerned department should ensure that the route remains completely safe for Wari. Minister Shri. Bhosale also gave instructions on the effective use of the app launched by the department regarding potholes on the road.
