Ashok Uike Shares Roadmap For Education, Nutrition And Health In Adivasi Regions
In an outreach aimed at improving awareness about government efforts for tribal development, Maharashtra’s Tribal Development Minister Prof. Dr. Ashok Uike appeared on the state-run programmes ‘Dilkhulas’ and ‘Jai Maharashtra’, sharing comprehensive insights on policies benefiting the Adivasi community.
The interview, conducted by Sushma Jadhav, is scheduled to air on All India Radio from June 28 to July 1, and on Doordarshan Sahyadri at 8 PM on July 1, also accessible on the official social media handles of the Directorate General of Information and Public Relations.
Minister Uike outlined the government’s multi-pronged strategy to uplift tribal students through access to quality education, particularly via residential Ashram schools. Modern facilities like digital classrooms, science labs, and libraries have been rolled out to ensure holistic development.
He also emphasized efforts to strengthen nutritional and healthcare infrastructure within tribal schools, including:
- Provision of balanced meals
- Regular medical check-ups
- Appointment of trained nursing staff
On June 16, a statewide ‘School Admission Festival’ was celebrated in tribal schools, marking the start of the academic year with festive engagement.
Uike reaffirmed the government’s commitment to equitable progress, especially in remote tribal belts, and invited public cooperation in making these schemes effective on the ground.
