Ajit Pawar To Inaugurate “Bahar-e-Urdu” Festival Celebrating 50 Years Of State Urdu Academy

Golden Jubilee To Showcase Urdu Literature, Poetry, Music And Theatre From Across India

Mumbai, October 5: The Maharashtra State Urdu Sahitya Academy is celebrating its golden jubilee this year with a grand three-day festival titled “Bahar-e-Urdu”, to be inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and Minority Development and Waqf Minister Adv. Manikrao Kokate. The event will take place from October 6 to 8, 2025, at the SVP Stadium Dome, Lala Lajpat Rai Marg, Worli, Mumbai.

The cultural and literary celebration will feature a literature and culture exhibition, mushaira and kavi sammelan by renowned Urdu poets from across India, felicitation of Urdu writers and artists, and performances in theatre, music, and visual arts. A special panel discussion on Urdu language and literary development will also be held.

Organizers said the festival will offer a “vibrant confluence of Urdu literature, poetry, and performing arts,” inviting all Urdu enthusiasts to join the celebration of 50 years of the Academy’s cultural journey.
