The ‘Hind Di Chadar’ programme will be held at Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, on February 28 and March 1, as part of the nationwide commemoration of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib’s supreme sacrifice. For smooth execution, the district administration has constituted 25 dedicated committees, involving government officials, Gurudwara managements, and representatives from various social groups.
Calling upon departments to ensure disciplined, peaceful and well-managed conduct, Dr. Suryavanshi said the event should convey Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib’s message of sacrifice, courage and protection of human values to every section of society. He noted that the Shaheedi Samagam has already been organised successfully in Nagpur and Nanded, and similar micro-level planning is being undertaken for Kharghar.
The programme is being organised under the guidance of the State Minority Affairs Department, jointly by the ‘Hind Di Chadar’ 350th Shaheedi Samagam Committee and representatives of Sikh, Sikligar, Banjara, Labana, Mohiyal, Sindhi, Valmiki, Udasin sects, along with Bhagat Namdev and Warkari communities, at the Corporate Park Ground, Kharghar.
Collector Kishan Jawale presented a detailed overview of preparations, noting that large numbers of devotees from Navi Mumbai, Mumbai, Palghar, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg, as well as from across India and abroad, are expected to attend. In view of this, the administration has put in place comprehensive arrangements through separate committees to ensure safety, convenience and smooth conduct of the event.
Expressing confidence, Dr. Suryavanshi said the ‘Hind Di Chadar’ programme would strengthen social harmony, unity and awareness of India’s rich historical values, provided all departments work collectively and responsibly.
