Thane District Employment Office Urges Full Compliance Under Employment Exchanges Act
Thane, January 9 (GIMAKA) — All public and private establishments in Thane district have been directed to mandatorily submit quarterly manpower statistics under the provisions of the Employment Exchanges (Compulsory Notification of Vacancies) Act, 1959 and Rules, 1960, within the prescribed deadline of January 31, 2026.
As per Section 5(1) of the Act, government, semi-government, and public sector establishments, and under Section 5(2), eligible private sector establishments, are required to furnish gender-wise and total employee strength details every quarter in the prescribed ER-1 format. This information must be submitted online through the official portal of the Maharashtra Government’s Skill Development, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Department — www.rojgar.mahaswayam.gov.in.
Accordingly, the District Skill Development, Employment and Entrepreneurship Guidance Centre, Thane, is currently collecting ER-1 quarterly data for the quarter ending December 2025. The department has emphasised that 100 per cent response from all registered establishments is essential to ensure statutory compliance.
All concerned establishments have already been provided with user IDs and passwords by the department. Using these credentials, employers must log in to the portal and submit accurate manpower details online within the stipulated time. Authorities have cautioned that incorrect or incomplete data submission may amount to non-compliance under the Act.
The final deadline for submission of the ER-1 quarterly return is January 31, 2026, and establishments have been urged to strictly adhere to this timeline. In addition, employers have been instructed to update their registration details immediately, ensuring that all required information is current and accurate.
Appealing for cooperation, Assistant Commissioner Sandhya S. Salunkhe of the District Skill Development, Employment and Entrepreneurship Guidance Centre, Thane stated that timely compliance with the Act is a legal obligation and plays a crucial role in employment planning and workforce assessment.
