Flood-Hit Farmers In Marathwada Will Get Full Relief, Assures Minister Lodha

Rules to be relaxed for immediate compensation; CM Fadnavis monitoring situation closely

Jalna, Sept 26 — Maharashtra’s Skill Development, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha on Thursday assured that the state government will provide full relief to farmers affected by floods and heavy rains in Marathwada, including Jalna district.

Lodha visited Shelegaon in Badnapur taluka to take stock of the crop destruction and hear farmers’ grievances first-hand. “The government stands firmly with farmers. No farmer will be left out of assistance,” he declared, while instructing the district collector to relax certain rules so that immediate aid reaches distressed cultivators.

Rapid compensation for crop and livestock loss

The minister directed revenue and agriculture officers to conduct speedy crop-loss surveys (panchanamas) and submit damage reports to the government without delay. Every case of loss — washed-away fields, destroyed crops, dead cattle, silted wells — must be documented so that compensation can be disbursed quickly, Lodha said.

He added that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is personally monitoring the flood relief work and has instructed ministers to tour affected areas across Maharashtra. “Farmers will start receiving compensation before Diwali,” Lodha assured.

Infrastructure repair and relief efforts

Apart from crop loss, roads, power lines and water supply in Shelegaon and nearby areas have been badly damaged. Lodha ordered officials to act swiftly to restore basic infrastructure and provide immediate relief to farming families.

Before his visit, Lodha had handed over a ₹51 lakh cheque to CM Fadnavis for the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to support flood-hit citizens. The minister noted that heavy rains and floods have caused massive damage to agriculture and homes in Jalna, Beed, Solapur, Nanded and other districts, forcing many families into crisis.

CM Fadnavis praised Lodha’s gesture, calling his contribution a timely and important step in supporting disaster-affected communities.
