Human Chain Formed in Mira Road for “I Love Muhammad (PBUH)”

Peaceful Protest Organized by NCP Leader Ghulam Nabi Farooqui

Mira Road (Sajid Mahmood Sheikh): On Monday, 22 September, at 2 p.m., hundreds of Muslims gathered in the Naya Nagar area near Nihal Corner Hotel, Mira Road, to form a human chain in support of “I Love Muhammad (PBUH).”

The protest was organized by Nationalist Congress Party leader and acting president of Mira-Bhayandar, Ghulam Nabi Farooqui. He told Inquilab that prior intimation of the demonstration had been submitted to the local police station on the party’s official letterhead.

The event witnessed the participation of religious scholars, community leaders, and a large number of women.

Speaking to the media, Ghulam Nabi Farooqui said: “Today we are protesting peacefully in accordance with the teachings of our Prophet (PBUH). We want to send a clear message that arbitrary actions will not be tolerated in this country, and we will never accept any disrespect towards our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).”

Prominent Islamic scholar Allama Wajid Qadri also addressed the gathering, highlighting the recent incident in Kanpur where a case was registered against individuals for displaying banners with the words ‘I Love Muhammad (PBUH)’. He said this action had created unrest among Muslims across the country.

“In a democratic nation, how can displaying loyalty to our Prophet (PBUH) lead to criminal charges? Today, by peacefully displaying these posters, we are reaffirming that the love for Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) has always been in our hearts and will remain forever. Muslims worldwide will never accept such injustice,” Qadri said.
