‘Hussain For All’: Anfal Foundation Distributes Fruits In Hospitals To Spread Message Of Humanity
Over 110 volunteers participate in Imam Hussain campaign across 12 public hospitals in Mumbai, Pune, and Thane
Mumbai (Sajid Mehmood Sheikh): To promote the universal message of Imam Hussain (A.S) during the holy month of Muharram, the Anfal Foundation conducted a humanitarian campaign by distributing fruits to patients in public hospitals across Mumbai, Pune, and Thane. The initiative, titled “Sarvanche Hussain” (Hussain for All), entered its second year with participation from more than 110 volunteers.
The foundation’s spokesperson, Owais Dhanji, explained that the campaign was carried out in 12 major municipal hospitals, including Lokmanya Tilak Hospital (Sion), Cooper Hospital (Andheri), Nair Hospital (Mumbai Central), Wadia Hospital (Parel), Shatabdi Hospital (Kandivali), and civic hospitals in Kalwa, Mira Road, Bhiwandi, Deonar, Vasai, Nerul, and Mumbra.
“This campaign reflects the path of love, compassion, and humanity that Imam Hussain stood for,” said Dhanji. “By remembering his sacrifice, we are reaching out to the most vulnerable members of society—the sick and suffering—with empathy and care.”
Muharram, the first month of the Islamic calendar, commemorates the martyrdom of Imam Hussain and his companions at the Battle of Karbala, where he stood against tyranny and injustice. Across centuries, followers of the Ahlul Bayt have marked this month not only with mourning but also with acts of public service and charity.
Volunteers offered more than just fruit—they shared prayers, comfort, and kindness. Many patients were visibly moved, with some asking for prayers for their loved ones. The campaign underscored that Imam Hussain’s message transcends time, religion, and borders, embodying a legacy of sacrifice for the sake of humanity.
