
Hyundai Urged To Expand Investments In Maharashtra For Job Creation
Fadnavis Highlights Pune Project, CSR Initiatives And Industry-Friendly Climate
The Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has urged Hyundai Motor Company to increase its investments in the state, stressing that greater participation from the automobile giant would generate substantial employment opportunities.
Speaking at a meeting with the Hyundai delegation at Varsha Bungalow, Mumbai, on 15 September, Fadnavis said that the company’s Pune project will expand vehicle production and boost Maharashtra’s automotive sector.
CSR Contributions Lauded
Fadnavis praised Hyundai’s commitment of ₹56 crore under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for projects in Maharashtra. He urged the company to utilize the funds for environmental conservation, road safety and driver training programs.
“The state government has created an industry-friendly environment and will continue to support global investors,” Fadnavis assured.
Meeting Highlights
The Hyundai team was led by Managing Director Unsoo Kim, accompanied by Executive Director Jeongjik Lee, Vice-President (Finance) Saravanan T., Assistant Vice-President Puneet Anand, and senior officials. From the government, Principal Secretary Ashwini Bhide, Industries Secretary Dr. P. Anbalagan, and Investment Advisor Kaustubh Dhavse were present.
During the meeting, Hyundai officials presented details of their investment plans and Pune project progress. The CM also launched Hyundai’s tree plantation drive in Talegaon (Pune district) and road safety initiatives, funded through the company’s CSR allocation.
