Industrial Development To Drive Prosperous Economy In Vidarbha: CM Fadnavis
Chandrapur and Gadchiroli Emerge as Industrial Magnets, 1.5 Lakh Jobs Expected
Chandrapur, Sept. 28 – Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that Chandrapur and Gadchiroli districts are emerging as industrial magnets, where large-scale projects funded by the District Mineral Foundation (DMF) are transforming the region’s economic landscape.
The CM unveiled a Coffee Table Book on the initiatives of the DMF at Mul, Chandrapur, in the presence of Tribal Development Minister Dr. Ashok Uike, MLAs Sudhir Mungantiwar, Kishor Jorgewar, Deorao Bhongle, and senior district officials.
Fadnavis stressed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision is to ensure that communities residing in mining-affected areas directly benefit from mineral wealth. “Mining and transport cause hardships for locals, so they must be the foremost beneficiaries,” he remarked.
Balancing Industry With Environment
Highlighting the scale of upcoming projects, the CM revealed that industrial growth is expected to create 1.5 lakh jobs, with special focus on skill development, healthcare, infrastructure, and education. He assured that a system will be built to provide 100% employment for locals, while ensuring ecological balance.
“Chandrapur must set an example that industrialization can go hand-in-hand with environmental protection,” Fadnavis said, adding that tree plantation drives will remain a priority. Maharashtra has already increased its green cover, but the state is now aiming to push its forest cover beyond 33%.
Recognition Of Local Administration
The CM praised the Chandrapur administration for implementing DMF-funded initiatives effectively, especially in health and livelihood sectors. He reiterated that industrial development, combined with environmental sustainability, would position Chandrapur and Gadchiroli as models of balanced economic growth in India.
