BMC to Undertake Emergency Repair on 900-mm Water Pipeline in Bandra West
Water supply to parts of H-West Ward to remain shut or at low pressure for 14 hours on February 10
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has taken up urgent repair work on a 900-millimetre diameter inlet water pipeline connected to the Pali Hill Reservoir in Bandra (West) after a leakage was detected.
The repair will be carried out on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, from 10 am to 12 midnight, for a total duration of 14 hours. During this period, water supply will be completely shut in several parts of the H-West Ward, while some areas will receive water at reduced pressure, the civic body said.
According to the BMC, the affected pipeline passes near the Qureshi Nagar slum and runs through an open plot belonging to the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA), alongside the Western Express Highway in Bandra West. The repair has been classified as essential and unavoidable to prevent further leakage and water loss.
The civic administration has urged residents of the affected areas to store adequate water in advance, use water judiciously during the shutdown, and as a precaution, boil and filter drinking water for the next few days. Citizens have also been requested to cooperate with the municipal authorities during the repair period.
