Joyous Moment of Employment: 530 Clerks Appointed to Maharashtra Government Service

New Appointments Under Compassionate Grounds and MPSC Selection Mark Milestone for Thane District

In a landmark employment drive, 530 clerk-typists — appointed through both compassionate grounds and the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) — received their official government appointment letters at a grand ceremony held at the Thane District Planning Committee Hall.

Presiding over the event, District Collector Dr. Shrikrishna Panchal urged the newly appointed candidates to serve with honesty, responsibility, and commitment towards realizing the vision of a Developed Maharashtra 2047. “Let your dedication to public service become the foundation of our collective progress,” he said, emphasizing the importance of transparent and citizen-centric governance.

This district-level event coincided with the State Employment Fair, held at Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan, Mumbai, where over 10,000 appointment letters were distributed simultaneously across Maharashtra — a historic first.

Among the dignitaries present were MLA Sanjay Kelkar, MLA Sulabha Gaikwad, CEO Rohan Ghughe, SP Dr. D. Swami, and other senior officials from various departments. The program began with the national and state anthems and concluded with heartfelt gratitude expressed by Tahsildar Sandeep Thorat.

Dr. Panchal highlighted the extensive administrative effort behind the compassionate appointment process — involving the review of 45 government resolutions (GRs) and a meticulous document verification phase completed in just two and a half months. He commended the teamwork, sensitivity, and transparency shown by officers and departments. He also acknowledged the General Administration Department, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy CMs Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, for their leadership and encouragement.

MLA Sanjay Kelkar described the event as a “festival of employment,” praising the joint efforts of government officials and employees who ensured efficiency and integrity in the process. He urged the appointees to perform their duties with honesty and discipline.

The statewide employment initiative, part of the government’s 150-day mission, empowered district collectors to fast-track pending appointments. Across Maharashtra, 10,309 candidates joined government service — including 3,078 from the Konkan division, 2,597 from Vidarbha, 1,674 from Pune, 1,250 from Nashik, and 1,710 from Marathwada.

In Thane district alone, 257 compassionate appointees and 273 MPSC recruits received letters — providing crucial relief to families of deceased government employees.

The event was coordinated by Resident Deputy Collector Dr. Sandeep Mane, who detailed how counseling sessions and guidance workshops helped candidates navigate complex appointment formalities. Renowned anchor Kalpana Sathe hosted the ceremony.
