Maharashtra Secures ₹42,892 Crore Investment, 25,892 Jobs; Hyperloop Project Gains Momentum

Fadnavis witnesses 10 MoUs including solar, data centres, steel, green energy and logistics

Mumbai, August 19 – Maharashtra is fast emerging as India’s “Data Centre Capital” and “Solar Energy Integration Capital”, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis declared on Tuesday as the state signed 10 investment agreements worth ₹42,892 crore, expected to generate over 25,000 jobs.

Speaking at the MoU exchange ceremony at Mantralaya, Fadnavis said investor confidence in Maharashtra, backed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, was driving foreign and domestic companies to choose the state as their growth hub. “Our government will support investors at every stage — from project approvals to completion,” he assured.

Hyperloop Project Gets IIT Boost

Fadnavis also highlighted that the long-discussed Hyperloop transport project has received a fresh push, thanks to support from IIT Bombay and IIT Madras. Once operational, the project is expected to transform logistics, mobility and transportation not only in Maharashtra but across India.

Key Investments Signed

A total of eight MoUs and two strategic agreements were inked in the presence of top officials, including Chief Secretary Rajesh Kumar, Industry Secretary Dr. P. Anbalagan, MIDC CEO P. Velarasu and Development Commissioner Dipendrasinh Kushwaha.

Some of the most significant deals include:

  • Jupiter International Ltd – Solar panel manufacturing unit with ₹10,900 crore investment, creating 8,308 jobs.
  • Rochak Systems Pvt Ltd – Data centre with ₹2,508 crore investment, creating 1,000 jobs.
  • Rovison Tech Hub Pvt Ltd – Data centre with ₹2,564 crore investment, creating 1,100 jobs.
  • Wow Iron & Steel Pvt Ltd – Steel sector investment of ₹4,300 crore, generating 1,500 jobs.
  • Webmint Digital Pvt Ltd – Data centre project worth ₹4,846 crore, creating 2,050 jobs.
  • Atlas Copco – Industrial equipment project with ₹575 crore investment, generating 3,400 jobs.
  • LNK Green Energy – Renewable energy project worth ₹4,700 crore, creating 2,500 jobs.
  • Prestige Estate Projects Ltd – Data centre, logistics and real estate hub with ₹12,500 crore investment, creating 8,700 jobs.

In addition, the Global India Business Corridor signed an MoU to facilitate UK and European investment in Maharashtra, while TUTR Hyperloop Pvt Ltd signed a strategic agreement to develop advanced transport systems at JNPT and Vadhavan Port.
