Janata Darbar Held At BMC M-East Ward; Over 200 Complaints Received
Mumbai, August 22: Minister for Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation and Guardian Minister of Mumbai Suburban District, Mangal Prabhat Lodha, has directed Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials to work with sensitivity and urgency to resolve citizens’ grievances.
Presiding over a Janata Darbar held at the BMC M-East Ward office, Lodha engaged directly with residents, listening to their complaints and interacting with officials for swift redressal. Local MLAs Abu Azmi and Sanaa Malik, Deputy Commissioner Devdatt Sirsagar, and Assistant Commissioner Ujwal Ingole were present along with senior BMC officers.
Citizens’ Complaints Raised
More than 200 citizens submitted grievances, including issues related to:
- Road repairs and streetlights
- Drinking water supply and drainage systems
- Beautification and solid waste management
- Unauthorized constructions
- Installation of CCTV cameras
- Repairs to water pipelines
- Construction of public toilets
- Redevelopment of old buildings
Lodha instructed officials to coordinate across departments and ensure timely resolution. He emphasized that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy CM Eknath Shinde, and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar have all stressed the importance of addressing Mumbai citizens’ issues through such public grievance forums.
“Citizens’ problems must be resolved on priority. Any bottlenecks in grievance redressal should be identified and cleared quickly,” Lodha said, adding that such Janata Darbars will continue regularly.
