Mira-Bhayandar Civic Staff To Receive Early Salaries Ahead Of Ganpati Festival
Civic chief also directs contractors to clear payments of contract workers in advance
In view of the upcoming Ganpati festival, the Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) has announced that its officers and employees will receive their August salaries in advance, instead of the usual disbursement in September.
According to the civic body’s Public Relations Department, the decision was taken following a government resolution issued on August 21, 2025, which instructed all state departments to ensure that government employees and pensioners do not face financial difficulties during the festive season.
MBMC Commissioner Radha Vinod Sharma has also directed contractors to pay contract-based employees and daily wage workers ahead of schedule, ensuring they too can celebrate the festival without monetary stress.
Civic sources said the move is intended to provide relief and support to thousands of staff members and workers, especially those who rely on timely payments to manage household expenses during major festivals.
The early salary disbursal is expected to benefit not just permanent municipal staff, but also a large number of outsourced and contract workers, reflecting a broader push towards inclusivity in festive welfare measures.
