
Mira-Bhayandar Launches Post-Monsoon Deep Clean Drive
Civic Commissioner Radha Binod Sharma Joins Campaign; Over 20 Tons Of Waste Removed
Mira Road, August 22: The Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) has launched a citywide Deep Clean Drive after the monsoon season to restore hygiene and public amenities. The campaign was formally inaugurated at Hatkesh Chowk and extended to 10 major locations across the city, including Naya Nagar Naka, Kashimira, Silver Park, Shivar Garden, Golden Nest, Mira Road station area, Jesal Park, Bakery Lane, and Uttan Naka.

The initiative saw the participation of Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Radha Binod Sharma, along with Deputy Commissioner Dr. Sanjay Bangar, Assistant Commissioner Yogesh, sanitation inspectors, fire department personnel, and sanitation workers.
Waste Collected During Drive
- 10.2 metric tons of mud
- 5.25 metric tons of debris
- 1 metric ton of wet waste
- 2 metric tons of old furniture
- 2 metric tons of plastic waste
In total, more than 20 tons of waste were cleared from streets, markets, and public spaces, including waterlogged areas.
Municipal Commissioner Sharma, who personally joined the cleaning activity, said:
“There will be no compromise on cleanliness in the city. To safeguard public health and improve civic amenities, such initiatives will continue regularly.”
The MBMC’s campaign highlights the increasing focus on post-monsoon sanitation drives in Maharashtra’s urban areas, aimed at preventing diseases and ensuring a clean environment for citizens.
