Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation Hosts Women’s Skill Development Workshop to Promote Economic Empowerment

In a significant initiative aimed at promoting women’s economic empowerment and fostering entrepreneurship, the Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation organized a Women’s Skill Development Workshop at the municipal headquarters on June 19, 2025.

The workshop was conducted in collaboration with NITI Aayog and the Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP). Under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Radhabinod A. Sharma (IAS) and in the presence of City Engineer Deepak Khambit, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from women across the city.

The workshop focused on enhancing financial literacy, equipping women with essential knowledge and skills for proper money management and business growth. Expert sessions were conducted by representatives from WEP, TransUnion CIBIL, and Microsave Counselling, offering insights into financial planning, credit advisory, and strategies for entrepreneurial success.

Women involved in the civic initiative Faral Sakhi—a successful local program promoting women-led food enterprises—also actively participated, sharing their experiences and learning.

During the workshop, participants posed questions on a wide range of topics, including business challenges, financial planning, and access to credit. Representatives from NITI Aayog and WEP provided detailed responses, turning the workshop into an engaging and impactful dialogue.

Speaking after the event, Commissioner Sharma stated, “The economic and social empowerment of women is the cornerstone of national development. Like the success of ‘Faral Sakhi,’ we plan to implement a series of such innovative, women-focused initiatives in the future.” He also expressed gratitude to NITI Aayog and WEP and extended best wishes to the women participants for their future endeavors.
