Digital Process Ensures Faster, Transparent Medical Assistance Across Maharashtra

The Chief Minister’s Medical Relief Fund has emerged as a crucial lifeline for economically weaker and poor patients in Maharashtra. In the last seven months alone, the Nagpur division disbursed ₹13.81 crore in medical aid to 1,582 patients, helping them cover treatment for serious illnesses and life-saving surgeries.

Following the directives of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the state introduced a paperless, digital application system along with district-level help desks, eliminating the need for patients to travel to Mantralaya. Patients are encouraged to first avail themselves of benefits from schemes like Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, National Child Health Programme, or charitable hospital schemes. If treatment is not possible under these, applications can be made via hospitals affiliated with the CM Relief Fund. This ensures that government resources reach the most deserving cases.

Data shows Nagpur district topped the list with 1,396 beneficiaries receiving ₹12.16 crore, followed by Chandrapur, Wardha, Gondia, Bhandara, and Gadchiroli. The fund covers 20 critical medical conditions, including heart, liver, kidney, lung and bone marrow transplants, cancer treatments, cochlear implants for children, accident trauma, orthopedic surgeries, and neonatal care.

Applicants must submit essential documents such as Aadhaar, ration card, income proof, medical reports, and, in some cases, police FIRs or organ transplant receipts. All documents are accepted in PDF format via email (aao.cmrf-mh@gov.in), with a toll-free helpline (9321 103 103) available for guidance.

Officials, including Relief Fund chief Rameshwar Naik, stated that the system’s transparency and speed will be maintained, with an aim to help more patients in need in the coming months.
