Navi Mumbai Schools Host Patriotic Activities Under Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign
Students Create Tri-Coloured Rakhis, Write Letters To Soldiers And Participate In Themed Competitions
Navi Mumbai, August 7 – As part of the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga campaign aimed at instilling patriotism and spreading awareness about the Indian national flag, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has launched a series of engaging activities across all schools and junior colleges in its jurisdiction. The initiative is being held under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde.
Under the supervision of Additional Commissioner Sunil Pawar and Education Department Deputy Commissioner Sanghratna Khillare, the education wing has planned day-wise events to encourage students – the future citizens of the nation – to embrace the spirit of freedom and national pride.
Creative And Emotional Celebrations
On August 7, students crafted tri-coloured rakhis and tied them not only to their classmates but also to sanitation workers and local police officers, marking Raksha Bandhan with a patriotic twist. A letter-writing activity titled “Letters to Soldiers” saw students pen heartfelt messages expressing gratitude to the armed forces for their service and sacrifice.
Earlier, on August 5, schools set up tricolour selfie stands, encouraging students to click photos and share them on social media with the hashtags #HarGharTiranga and #HarGharTiranga2025, as well as upload them to the government portal www.harghartiranga.com. Morning assemblies featured the singing of the Tiranga Geet and other patriotic songs.
On August 6, quiz competitions were held on the history of the tricolour, the freedom struggle, and national leaders. Students were also encouraged to participate in quizzes hosted on the Ministry of Culture’s mygov.in platform. In some schools, walls and notice boards were decorated with tricolour-themed artwork.
Upcoming Highlights
On August 11, a flag-themed marathon will be held at the school level, followed by a collective Tiranga pledge. On August 12, schools will host Tiranga exhibitions, screening videos and publicity materials from the Har Ghar Tiranga website via projectors or TVs.
The celebrations will culminate on August 15 with flag hoisting ceremonies and Tiranga morning processions within school premises.
NMMC has urged all Navi Mumbai residents to hoist the national flag at their homes on Independence Day, click a selfie with it, and upload the picture to www.harghartiranga.com using the hashtags #HarGharTiranga and #HarGharTiranga2025.
