Thane, Maharashtra — In a civic outreach initiative, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) – Sharadchandra Pawar faction organized a two-day free document distribution camp in Chandanwadi, Thane, offering vital government certificates to local residents. The event was held on 21 and 22 June 2025 and saw strong public turnout.
The drive was conducted under the leadership of MLA Dr. Jitendra Awhad, party’s national general secretary and legislative group leader, and coordinated by district president Suhas Desai and district unorganized workers’ cell chief Raju Chapale.
Kicking off with a floral tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj by Suhas Desai, the camp provided free access to essential documents, such as:
- Caste certificates
- Income certificates
- Domicile proofs
- Senior citizen and labour identity cards
The initiative aimed to support unorganized workers, senior citizens, and economically weaker sections who often face bureaucratic hurdles in accessing basic documentation. Local citizens responded in large numbers, availing of services and voicing appreciation for the effort.
Prominent attendees included Corporator Milind Bankar, Thane trade association head Sanjeev Dutta, OBC cell head Gajanan Chaudhary, and senior citizens’ forum president Dilip Naik, along with several other office-bearers and grassroots workers.
The event also doubled as a platform for addressing local civic grievances, with party leaders assuring continued engagement on welfare and access issues.
