NCP (Sharad Pawar) Protests Against Agriculture Minister Kokate’s Remarks On Farmers
Demands Resignation and Action from Maharashtra Governor and Chief Minister Over Controversial Video
Mira-Bhayandar: On Friday, 25 July, activists from the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction) staged a forceful protest in Bhayandar against Maharashtra’s Agriculture Minister Manikrao Kokate, demanding his resignation and removal from the cabinet over his recent controversial comments.
Led by NCP (Sharad Pawar) local president Adv. Vikram Tare Patil and working president Ghulam Nabi Farooqui, the protestors submitted a memorandum through the Tehsildar addressed to the Governor of Maharashtra and the state government, calling for immediate action.

The protest was triggered by a viral video in which Minister Kokate is allegedly heard making derogatory remarks against farmers, sparking widespread public outrage. “His statement is a stain on Maharashtra’s culture,” said Ghulam Nabi Farooqui during the protest. “We condemn the Minister’s disgraceful comments and his actions that undermine democratic values.”
Farooqui further stated that the minister’s repeated controversial actions have alienated him from the people of the state. “We urge Governor Ramesh Bais and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to take swift action and dismiss Kokate from the cabinet,” he added.
The protest drew participation from a large number of NCP volunteers and supporters, signalling the growing political heat over the Minister’s conduct.
