This policy governs the issuance, usage, and revocation of Press Identity Cards (Press IDs) and contributor terms for freelance journalists, stringers, and content partners affiliated with YIIPPEE® News Network.

🔷 1. Press ID Accreditation Policy

✅ Eligibility

Press IDs are issued to:

  • Staff Journalists: Full-time reporters on assigned beats (real estate, courts, politics, etc.).
  • Freelancers: Minimum 6 bylined stories on YIIPPEE® within the last 3 months.
  • Stringers: Verified regional reporters with references (submit 2 verifiable endorsements).

📝 Application Process

Send to: editor@yiippee.com
Required:

  • Passport-size photo + valid government ID
  • Resume + 3 recent published samples
  • Assignment letter (for freelancers/stringers)

Verification time: 7 working days
Issuance:

  • Digital Press ID (QR-verified profile)
  • Physical ID card (optional, ₹200 processing fee)

🚫 Limitations

  • ❌ Not valid for entry into police cordons/conflict zones unless pre-assigned.
  • ❌ Not to be used for personal favors, lobbying, or commercial freebies.
  • ✅ Valid only for YIIPPEE®-authorized coverage and public briefings (PIB/DIGPR/Govt).

🔷 2. Contributor Affiliation Terms

📄 Contract Types

  1. Freelance Agreement (Work-for-Hire)
    • Payment: ₹500–₹5,000/article
    • Copyright assigned to YIIPPEE®
    • Kill Fee: 30% if unpublished after submission
  2. Columnist/Retainer Model
    • Monthly Fee: ₹10,000–₹50,000
    • Non-compete clause: No rival platforms for 6 months post-affiliation

📌 Key Clauses

  • Ethics: Must comply with PCI norms, IT Rules 2021, and YIIPPEE®’s Editorial Policy
  • Indemnity: Contributor liable for legal risks (defamation, plagiarism)
  • Attribution: All published content carries contributor byline

  • ID Validity: 1 year (renewable upon performance review)

🔷 5. Public Display & Verification

  • “Our Team” page will feature accredited contributors with their beat focus.
  • Contributors may request help for blue checkmark verification on social media.
  • All Press IDs will include QR codes for instant verification by authorities.

This policy is governed by:

  • Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (in place of IPC)
  • Jurisdiction: Courts of Mumbai, Maharashtra
