Revenue Department Review Meeting Held Under ACS Vikas Kharge in Thane
Officials directed to strengthen e-governance and public transparency in revenue services
A high-level review meeting of the Revenue Department was held at the Thane District Collectorate under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue) Vikas Kharge. The session was formally opened with a welcome by District Collector Dr. Shrikrishna Panchal.
During the visit, Kharge interacted with heads of various branches at the Collector’s office and reviewed progress under the 150-day performance program, including e-governance initiatives, the “Seva Pakhwada” service drive, and newly launched district-level projects. He also discussed key issues such as land acquisition for major infrastructure projects, sand availability and management, mutation records, and revenue case status.
Addressing the officers, Kharge emphasized that public service through government administration is a noble responsibility and described the Revenue Department as the face of the government. He urged officials to communicate their achievements transparently to citizens, stressing accountability, honesty, and reliability in governance. “Maharashtra is among India’s leading investment destinations, and Thane, too, must capitalize on this growth,” he added.
Kharge called for effective implementation of the e-office system across all departments to speed up citizen services and strengthen public trust. “By improving efficiency and credibility, we can collectively contribute to the state’s progress,” he stated.
The meeting was attended by Additional Collector Harishchandra Patil, Resident Deputy Collector Dr. Sandeep Mane, Deputy Collector (General Administration) Rupali Bhalke, Deputy District Election Officer Vaishali Mane, Deputy Collector (Rehabilitation) Sarjerao Maske Patil, along with all Prant Officers and Tehsildars.
