Mira Bhayandar Civic Body Acts To Protect Residents After Structural Collapse Risk
Bhayandar (Sajid Mahmood Shaikh) – In a decisive safety operation, the Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) demolished a structurally unsafe building in Bhayandar East on July 22, 2025.
According to a statement released by the Public Relations Department of MBMC, the building — Dwarka Dham, located near Sheetal Shopping Centre on BP Road, Ward No. 3, was declared dangerous and unfit for habitation. The demolition was carried out under the supervision of Deputy Municipal Commissioner Priyanka Rajput.
The structure had become severely dilapidated, posing an imminent threat to the safety of residents in the vicinity. As a precaution, adjacent buildings were evacuated, and strict security arrangements were enforced during the operation.
Civic officials stated that the move was taken in the interest of public safety, as the building had shown visible signs of instability and risk of collapse.
